Beauty

Can we all take a moment to celebrate the fact that big butts are so in right now? So are thick thighs. And curves. I mean, women are getting implants to make their butts BIGGER. What is actually happening right now??

This might sound weird, but there’s never been a better time to own the body you have than now. Even if you still have pounds to shed.

We have choices in clothing that actually flatters our bodies instead of hiding them, and there’s sooooo many different styles that are in fashion now.

You can dress like a vintage pin-up or a chic activewear person (see what I did there?), or like a Bohemian Goddess or a Sun-kissed Cruise Guest. You can wear jumpsuits and overalls, long skirts or maxi dresses. Jeans and a vintage t-shirt are absolutely in (especially with a cute hat and Converse or loafers). Fitted blazers and long billowy dusters are all HOT. Wide-calf boots of every style. I mean, they even make compression wear dress pants now to complete that perfect business outfit. OPTIONS, my friend. So. Many. Options.

Collectively, we’ve spent many years finding styles and clothing that complement our curves, but that also serve our lifestyles. We’re going to share that here and help make the journey of fashion and style something fun and meaningful no matter what size.

Of course there’s the physical side of looking and feeling beautiful. But with Lipedema, what we put ON our body is just as important as what we put IN it. Makeup, hair and personal care products all matter when it comes to Lipedema health. But there’s no reason we should sacrifice looking great just to avoid toxins. Clean personal care is a thing. And this has been an ongoing obsession for me since 2013 and I’ve found that there’s some pretty awesome products out there.

Self-Care is an integral part of managing Lipedema. Dry-brushing, how we shower and bathe, skin care, sun exposure, hydration, collagen, exercise and how much we sleep all play a part in our overall well-being. So, we’re definitely going to explore these and discuss ways to successfully integrate this into our routines.

But let’s not forget that feeling beautiful also comes from within. This has everything to do with loving yourself. So yeah, we’re definitely going to talk about that as well.

Beauty is an “all over” thing. It starts with us and our headspace and then spreads out from there. This is where we’ll share our personal journeys and tips on living a life that is nourishing and life-giving, full of style and flair and a bit of sass.
